We have two Chamois worms to tie.  The traditional Chamois worm with a bead. And this variation which we will Chamois Worm Variation.   It appeared on YouTube 8 years ago – tier – Sister Carol Anne Corley and the YouTube address is:


Made a few changes with hook type and thread color.   She used the Mustard 3906 which converts to Tiemco TMC3769, but I like the Tiemco TMC200R of the TMC101. The lead weight can be either .015 or .020.  If you used the .015 do about 10 to 12 turns and if you used the .020 do 6 to 7 turns of led around the hook.  She uses yellow thread.   In addition to yellow, we use Chartreuse (red might also be good.  See which ones catches more fish and let me know.  We also take a lighter to burn the tip ends of the Chamois.


  • Hook: Tiemco TMC200R or TMC101
  • Hook Size: 12, 14, 16
  • Tail and Body: Tan Chamois
  • Weight: Lead wire – .015 or .020
  • Thread: UNI-Thread 8/0, Yellow or Chartreuse
