The Griffith’s Gnat, a dry fly) was created by George Griffith.  A small woolly bugger without a tail.  On of Harry Morgan’s favorite fly.  It seems that this fly represents a lot of different bugs.

A very simple fly to tie.  Suggest that you also tie it in a tan or ginger colors.  One day at Roaring River, I watched this one fly fisherman catch a trout just about every time he made a cast.  When the fly was lost, I approached him.  He was tying on a Griffith’s Gnat but the color was a tan or ginger color.
