Just a $0.15 fix!

Do you have an old vise that is missing the screw pad on the clamp and you do not want to use it?  See attached.  Now you can fix it for only $0.15.  Take out the screw part of the clamp out.  Grind off the tip being careful that you do not damage the threads.  Go to Ace hardware and find a locking nut that matches your size and threads.  In my example, the locking nut was ¼ with 20 threads and cost me $0.15.  Reinstall the screw into your clamp and then put on your locking nut.  Now your vise is ready to be used again or you can give it to a new .
