D.H. Thompson was American manufacturer of fly tying vises and tools. Herbert Thompson, a young mechanic and avid fly fisherman developed the Model A Thompson vise in the early 1900 (estimate 1909 or earlier).

The original address for D. H. Thompson Manufacturing was 335 Walnut Avenue, Elgin, Illinois.  This was Thompson’s home and he keeps that address even after he moves his manufacturing to 11 North Union Street, Elgin, Illinois.  Eventually, all his materials showed the 11 N. Union Street address.  With each vise, a sheet of fly-tying fundamentals was included.  Attached are the fly-tying fundamentals.  One with the Walnut address and one with the Union address.
