Fly Fishing Schools for Spring 2017

2017 Fly Fishing School

Come have fun and learn to Fly Fish at a super affordable price! Great instruction by fly fishing guides and IFFF Casting Instructors.

Have you always wanted to learn to fly fish? Or improve on the fly fishing skills you have? Or add new skills? You can read all the books and watch all the videos you like, but there’s no substitute for on-the-water instruction from a patient, helpful, experienced guide/instructor. Our program will take your fishing to the next level. We’ll walk you through fly selection, reading the water and picking the prime spots, casting and presentation – all while fishing one of the nation’s finest trout streams. These trips are a great way for people of varying experience to enjoy fly fishing. You will receive one-on-one casting instruction, not group instruction. Seasoned anglers can focus on improving already known techniques, while less experienced anglers can learn the skills on which to base a lifetime of fly fishing.

Two nights lodging, two and a half days of instruction and all your meals for just a little more than one day of fishing with a guide. The Fly Fishing School is held at Riverside Retreat on the White River.

Information geared to help you catch fish! The focus of this learning opportunity is to pass on knowledge that will help you catch fish, or more fish, or larger fish. We do not spend your time covering simple things you can learn on the internet, such as information on rods, reels, knots, wading safety, basic fly line rigging and the like. We do teach you:

* how to read a river
* 3 knots you need (for novices only)
* playing, landing & handling fish
* steamer fishing techniques
* dry fly presentation techniques
* fishing nymphs productively
* how to fish wet flies
